Beauty Tips Using Turmeric

The natural spice turmeric can be included in your regular beauty regime either by eating it or by applying it topically to help with blemishes and acne. Make a paste by mixing chickpea flour, honey, coconut oil, and turmeric and smear on your face and let it sit for twenty minutes. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin. 

You can add turmeric powder to your foundation by matching the color undertones of the foundation. On the back of your hand take some foundation and sprinkle it with turmeric. Mixing it well so the color looks blended and to get the right shade add more turmeric. Your skin will have a nice glow and freshness.

You can use turmeric to treat spots. Mix aloe vera gel or honey with ½ a teaspoon of turmeric powder and apply directly to the spots.

Used as a scrub for lips turmeric will get rid of dead skin and even out pigmentation on your lips. Just add one teaspoon of turmeric powder to 1 tablespoon of Vaseline and apply it on your lips.

Turmeric can heal dry skin like cracked heels. Mix turmeric powder with coconut oil and smear this on the dry skin. After fifteen minutes wash it off. Your skin will feel soft and supple.

Turmeric will also help in exfoliations to remove dead skin cells from your face. Just mix one tablespoon of oatmeal, one tablespoon of powdered masoor dai, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and some milk or rose water to form a paste Spread it over your face and leave it on for some time then wash with water and you’ll see how clean and soft your face is.

Turmeric can also reduce scarring and heal wounds due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Take a pinch of turmeric and one teaspoon of gram or besan flour, Make a paste and apply it to the affected areas and let the paste dry for at least 25 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

Turmeric can reduce the signs of aging. It contains curcuminoid pigments that help the body in synthesizing antioxidants. The antioxidants protect skin cells from free radical damage and can slow the signs of aging like dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Turmeric can cure acne and redness. It removes excess oil from the skin. Mix ½ a teaspoon of turmeric with two teaspoons of sandalwood and some milk to make a paste. Smear it on the face and leave it to dry. Then wash it off, and repeat this process a  few times during the week, you’ll see a significant improvement.
